Deborah Weymont is a Bristol based artist who works with clay. Until recently she was a full time member of Clay Shed. She is now based at Unit 42 Meriton Foundry -previously Counterslip Clay. https://meritonfoundry.co.uk/
Deborah uses clay to handbuild pots, plates, tiles and functional and sculptural pieces with a focus on surface decoration. For the past two years she has been working with ‘wild clay’ which she uses to make natural pigments, pastels, paints, clay bodies and glazes.
Deborah’s work is experimental and playful-integrating traditional materials and craft techniques with a modern attitude and aesthetic. The invitation is to 'look again' and to see something that is both familiar and new.
